The Journey of Curiosity, Technology, and Finance

Every great story begins with curiosity, and mine started as a wide-eyed kid mesmerized by circuits and wires, thanks to my grandfather, an electrical engineer. I’d tinker with gadgets, break a few things, and unknowingly lay the foundation for my love of technology. Fast forward to my college days, I worked on computer vision projects to detect diseases, even presented my work at an IEEE conference. But the real turning point? The pandemic lockdown. With a couple of old computers lying around, I set up a self-hosted server running open-source applications, just so I could stream media and access files from anywhere. It wasn’t just a quarantine hobby—it was a crash course in tech obsession.

Building V3 Analytics: A Startup Adventure

In 2021, my co-founder and mentor, Vinod Krishnan (a finance aficionado and trader-extraordinaire), my friend Gideon Philip and I launched V3 Analytics Pvt. Ltd., an AI startup with a big mission: providing affordable, end-to-end AI solutions to MSMEs while maintaining global standards. As Director and Lead Machine Learning Engineer, I wore a lot of hats—strategic planner, team leader, problem solver, and coffee enthusiast.

We developed cutting-edge solutions in computer vision, real-time analytics, and IoT, alongside fintech products like stock screeners, algorithmic trading platforms, and a financial chatbot co-pilot. Leading a team of 20 engineers, meeting business leaders and stakeholders, and steering the company through tight deadlines was like juggling flaming torches—terrifying at first, exhilarating once you get the hang of it.

After a successful run, I exited the company, selling it to focus on my next adventure. The experience taught me invaluable lessons about leadership, perseverance, and the art of turning vision into reality.

The Spark of Finance

Finance entered my life like an unexpected plot twist. My mentor and co-founder, Vinod, introduced me to trading and equity markets. The complexity, dynamism, and sheer impact of finance—how it touches everyone’s lives—had me hooked. So, I decided to dive in headfirst.

Currently, I’m preparing for the CFA exam while equipping myself for a career in finance through self-study and personal projects. My short-term goal is to become an investment banker, mastering the nuances of financial analysis, modeling, and deal-making. In the long run, I aspire to become a partner at a leading Growth or Private Equity firm, or perhaps start my own firm, to drive meaningful change, empower communities, and make the world a better place.

Bridging AI and Finance

Even as I pivot into finance, I can’t leave behind my tech roots. I envision a future where AI and finance seamlessly blend—from predictive analytics and algorithmic trading to risk management and portfolio optimization. The possibilities are endless, and I’m eager to be at the forefront of this evolution.
